A Father's Push, A Developer's Launch
“I was 13 when I discovered the IT universe. Like many kids, I spent countless hours in front of a computer mostly playing games. One day my dad suggested I should use my time productively and gave me a book about HTML.
My introduction to programming turned out to be a lot of fun! Thanks to my dad I knew I wanted to pursue a career in IT. The next step was to study it at university. While the theory was interesting, I preferred to be hands on, to create useful things with code.
For my thesis I created software to track room usage. It’s still in use today – which makes me very proud.
After graduation I developed anti-money-laundering software for the banking industry. It was a complex environment with old technologies and I learnt a lot. But after some time I needed a new challenge.
A Passion for Travel, Fuelled by Flexibility
I reached out to friends working for The Information Factory and heard about an open position. Three weeks later I was hired!
My first interview was with Martin Borsc and after 5 minutes I already felt like I belonged. They took the time to teach me their processes and gradually gave me more opportunities to demonstrate my skills.
I love the friendly atmosphere here and I’m grateful that The Information Factory allows a flexible work schedule. This lets me pursue my passion for travel. Since childhood I’ve been a big fan of trains and train travel and keep all my tickets as souvenirs. 15 years of history!
Last year I took a memorable train journey from Prague to Rovaniemi in Finland on the Arctic circle. The scenery was breathtaking! I could see continually changing landscapes and it felt like a TV a documentary unfolding right in front of my eyes. Now I’m planning my next travel in between two projects, perhaps to Spain for some sunshine?“
