Introducing Sarka Zoglauer, project manager, mother of two, traveler, cold water swimmer and Lego fan!
“My journey to project management began at university where I studied Public Administration. After graduating I landed a job at the Ministry of Regional Affairs, where I managed the development of European projects in the Czech Republic. Witnessing such a diverse range of projects was an eye opening experience.
Life took an unexpected turn when my husband's work relocated us to Saudi Arabia for three years. This allowed me to explore a new country and spend quality time with my kids which was very enriching.
Upon returning home I was offered the opportunity to work at The Information Factory. It was a perfect fit, allowing me to stay with my young children while still pursuing a career and I immediately had a good feeling about the company.
As a PMO at The Information Factory, I wear multiple hats. I'm responsible for sales processes, administration and implementing new ideas. I handle quotes for new projects, administer the CRM and conduct reporting and analysis. Our PMO team is fantastic, and even though I enjoy working alone, the collaborative spirit is infectious.
One advantage of working for a software company is the ability to create in-house software that helps in our daily work. I participated in developing a tool that allows us to plan resources more efficiently. It simplifies time sheet management and gives the PMO team a clear picture of the resources allocated across multiple projects.
Outside work I practice cold water therapy. Multiple days per week I go to a natural source and swim. At first it was painful to dive in, even more so during winter, but now it feels relaxing and I’m proud to be able to dive into the icy water.
I also love spending time with my family. Last autumn we visited Germany, first to Rottenburg, a beautiful medieval city that looks like a post card. And then Legoland! My children loved being immersed in the Lego universe and I recommend everyone visits. To be honest, I hope my kids ask us to go back so I have a good excuse to experience the park again.”
