This made us go 'WOW'.

In a year in which the news is dominated by war and threats of war it's so heartening to read of an event where logistics is playing a positive supporting role instead of having to deal with problems created by people and situations outside of its control.

We're referring to an article published in Transport Intelligence on April 15 describing how CERN made history by transporting antimatter by road.

What's antimatter? We're not quite sure...It seems to be opposite of ordinary matter and when the two matters combine they create a flash of pure energy.

Antimatter has a range of current and potential uses. It already powers PET scanners in hospitals to create detailed images that detect cancer and brain conditions. Potential uses include cancer treatments and perhaps spacecraft propulsion of immense power.

On March 24, 92 antiprotons weighing less than 100 hydrogen atoms were placed into an 850kg box and transported in a specially built truck around a 4km road loop near Geneva. The first step in an antimatter delivery service.

The most extraordinary cargo ever transported? And successfully delivered!
